Caroline Collins, MD, DipABLM

My Professional Journey

I started my academic journey at the University of Georgia, where I earned two degrees—one in Microbiology and another in Child and Family Development. From there, I continued my education at Emory University, completing both medical school and residency in Internal Medicine.

After residency I moved to Muncie, Indiana, where I spent three fulfilling years serving the community. My time there gave me a deeper appreciation for the power of relationships in medicine and the importance of being part of a community’s health journey. I returned to Atlanta to be closer to my family, practicing in Decatur, GA before transitioning into academic medicine at Emory Peachtree Hills.

At Emory Peachtree Hills, I serve as Site Lead, where I work with an incredible team to deliver personalized, high-quality care. I also lead the Academic Internal Medicine Center and precept residents in the Internal Medicine Residency Clinic at Emory University Hospital Midtown.

In June, 2025, I will be leaving Emory to open Collins Center for Medicine, an innovative clinic focused on primary care, lifestyle medicine, and weight management. More details to come!

My Mission and Research

I am passionate about empowering patients and teaching other physicians to implement lifestyle medicine techniques that treat, reverse, and prevent chronic disease. My work centers on creating a ripple effect of wellness that extends far beyond my own practice.

My research focuses on discovering the best strategies to teach other physicians about lifestyle medicine, empowering them to implement this knowledge into their own practice.

I also explore the use of artificial intelligence in medical decision-making, working toward innovations that enhance healthcare delivery and outcomes. By combining innovative AI approaches with evidence-based lifestyle medicine, I aim to transform how healthcare providers deliver personalized, impactful care to their patients.

A Personal Note

I grew up in Snellville, Georgia, with my parents and two sisters. My mother faced health challenges, including cancer and diabetes, which opened my eyes to the impact that lifestyle choices can have on preventing and managing chronic disease. Her strength and resilience inspired my early interest in lifestyle medicine. When she lost her battle with breast cancer, it further deepened my commitment to spreading the message of how lifestyle changes can improve health and quality of life.

Now, as a mom to two elementary-aged children, I am driven to make thoughtful choices for their nutrition and lifestyle to support their long-term health. My experiences with my mother and my family fuel my passion to help others create a legacy of wellness and empower them to live their healthiest, happiest lives.
